Meaning of Phoenix
The phoenix symbolizes transformation, redemption and renewal. It represents a powerful
shift resulting in personal growth and a fresh start. The phoenix is the ultimate symbol of
strength and hope. Out of destruction, there can be restoration, and from endings, there can
be new beginnings that arise. The phoenix teaches us that even in the face of adversity or
setbacks, we each have the capacity to rise again, stronger and wiser.
Vision
The Cleburne ISD Phoenix Discipline Alternative Education Program (DAEP) vision is to empower students to rise above their circumstances and make intentional choices to better themselves.
Purpose
The purpose of a Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP), as an alternative to suspension or expulsion, is a temporary student placement to provide for behavior management that is separate from all other students in the district. DAEP is used for students who have violated certain provisions of the Student Code of Conduct.
Mission
Provide a structured environment conducive to learning, that encourages students to reflect on the effects of their personal choices, increase self-discipline, self-awareness, communication skills and appropriate behavior across all settings.
